Welcome

Alongside the Local Plan produced by Torbay Council, the Paignton Neighbourhood Plan, sets out the views of the community on the location of further development in our neighbourhood and will form a significant part of deciding any future planning applications in our area.

We are a group of more than 400 dedicated volunteers from all parts of Paignton who have worked very hard to complete the new style Neighbourhood Plan specifically covering Paignton town and the related communities in the surrounding areas. Our communities have taken up this exciting opportunity to shape our own future and guide the development that will take place in our area over the period to 2030.

We submitted the Plan to the Council in August 2017.  The Independent Examination stage was completed in November 2018 when it was agreed unanimously by Torbay Council that the Neighbourhood Plan produced by the community can proceed to Referendum.  The Neighbourhood Plan produced by our community can be viewed by clicking on the following link:

Please support your community by voting ‘Yes’ to the Neighbourhood Plan on 2nd May 2019.

Would you like to have your say about where new jobs and homes should be located when new planning applications are made ?

Do you feel no one ever listens to your opinion ?

Would you be prepared to volunteer some of your time to help with the Neighbourhood Plan and on-going monitoring of outcomes ?

We are well on our way with these further tasks, and would like to hear from you.

How do I join the Forum or find out more?
